E-CAESAR participation to Siemens IT Solutions and Services Public Sector SummITOn 10th December 2009, SIEMEMS IT Solutions and Services have organized the "TOWNS IN THE FUTURE – Public Sector SummIT" event at Snagov city, close to Bucharest. The principal speakers of the event were: Mr. Mihai Gherman – General Manager of Siemens IT Solutions and Services and Mr. Bernd Spreter – Commercial Manager of Siemens IT Solutions and Services. As the government is facing increasing budgetary constraints, institutions are in a position to cope with increasingly difficult challenges. First, the trend of cost reduction becomes more pronounced, in some cases, allocation of funds was frozen. Moreover, citizen orientation requires a steady improvement in the quality of public services. In the first part, Mr. Gherman and Mr. Spreter presented SIEMENS vision for the future cities of Romania. After that the presentation, Mr. Costas presented the Public Sector Sales team and also the SIS solutions dedicated to Public Sector customers: Ministry of Health, Ministry of Administration and Interior, National Customs Authority, local city halls, hospitals, etc. Among the main factors determining the cost reduction and elimination of bureaucracy are more efficient, rapid and transparent business processes. The solutions provided by Siemens IT Solutions and Services facilitate public sector clients pursuing investment and evaluate potential additional sources of income. An important number of guests from the public sector were invited to this event: directors and key players from Ministry of Health, Ministry of Education and Research, Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Communication and Information Society, Ministry of Administration and Interior, Ministry of Economy, Romania Court of Accounts, National Customs Authority, responsible from the local administrations like Bacau city, Iasi city, Craiova city, etc. The second part of the event was dedicated to presentation of the Partnership between SIS RO and E-CAESAR (Centre for Advanced Studies on Electronic Services). In this presentation, Dana Boldeanu and Decebal Popescu - the CEO and CTO of E-CAESAR - presented E-CAESAR and the EUSD-RO project. After the presentation each participant received the EUSD-RO leaflet and a DVD with the movie in which the EUSD-RO animation was presented in details. A lot of questions have been formulated from the participants, which demonstrates the interest for this project. At the end of the presentation, Mr. Gherman expressed the hope that Siemens IT Solutions and E-CAESAR will work together to implement in Romania this project.
