E-CAESAR participation to RoCS’2009 – Microsoft Interoperability Day

RoCS (Romanian Computer Show Conference) of IDG Romania Events' division is considered the biggest B2B event in Romania, a 3 days gathering of the all major companies in Romania, with dedicated conferences, seminars, debates and roundtables on major issues analyzing the impact of IT&C in our social and economical lives. RoCS this year will be at its 15th edition.

This year the event was placed under the name of RoCS 2009 – One year of economic crisis: the impact on the Romanian IT&C market and the perspectives for 2010 held between 25th and 27th November at Capital Plaza Hotel, Bucharest.

ROCS invites each year persons with decision power from Romanian Ministries, agencies, public institutes, city halls, local administrations etc. to track the latest news regarding the Romanian IT&C market in 2009, the crises year, and the perspectives for next year.

E-CAESAR was invited along with Info World Company to disseminate the resuts of EUSD-RO projects on a study case named “Implementation of European Service Directive (EUSD-RO)” at the Microsoft Interoperability Day, Romanian Computer Show Conference - RoCS 2009 – One year of economic crisis: the impact on the Romanian IT&C market and the perspectives for 2010 held on the 26th November 2009.

After the welcoming speech held each year by Mrs. Mihaela Gorodcov (General manager of IDG Romania - market leader publishing, events, online and all other IT&C related projects in Romania), followed Mrs. Paula Apreutesei (Microsoft) who thanked all the participants for being present to Microsoft Event held each year during ROCS.

The Roundtable started with Mr. Zoli Herczeg (Microsoft) with the first presentation on Cloud computing Windows Azure platform. Then followed the presentation on “claims” and standards for authenticated users’ access by others. The main idea of the Roundtable was how we understand interoperability and how we can see its place in our usual business. Each guest presented himself and indicated why interoperability is so important for Romania of these days.

Mrs. Apreutesei also thanked E-CAESAR Centre for their second participation to RoCS. Last year when E-CAESAR was only an initiative on progress, the task force of the association presented their objectives, strategy and future projects to be started this year. Microsoft provided E-CAESAR technological support, made sponsorships and invited the association to different events during the last 2 years, showing that Microsoft consider the Centre an important partner for developing projects and participating to common events.

Dana Boldeanu made a short overview of E-CAESAR, presenting goals and developed activities of the Centre after the opening event in February 2009. Also Dana Boldeanu thank Microsoft for their on technological support and permanent interest shown to E-CAESAR for the last year and 1 half. Also she told the audience that the success of EUSDRO project is due to both ASE and Politehnica teams that work on this project, to FOKUS through knowledge and constant guidance and to the support of Romanian National Trade Register Office.

Also Dana Boldeanu mentioned that the EUSDRO project was previously disseminated through the IE’2009 Conference in May 2009 on E-CAESAR Workshop and to the "Research Location Germany at a Glance" Conference in November, organised by the German Embassy in Romania along with the German Ministry of Research and Education.
