
Official Opening of the E-CAESAR Centre
Fraunhofer FOKUS Germany initiates an e-Services Centre in Bucharest for the cross-border modernization of public administration and enterprises
On February 17, 2009 the constitutive act to establish a joint Centre for Advanced Studies on Electronic Services, "E-CAESAR" will be signed. High ranking German and Romanian representatives from politics and business will be invited.On February 18, 2009 E-CAESAR representatives will presenttrend-setting ideas in a workshop on how to cooperate when setting up eGovernment and how to implement the European Services Directive in Romania, Germany and Europe.
The Centre for Advanced Studies on Electronic Services (E-CAESAR) has been created as a result of the strong cooperation between Fraunhofer Institute FOKUS, Politehnica University of Bucharest (UPB) and Bucharest Academy of Economic Studies (ASE). Project partners include national and international industrial concerns such as Microsoft, IBM, Oracle, SAP, FORTE/Siemens, NetApp and Bull, Adobe, GeCAD, UTI Group, RedHat.
Goal of the research and demonstration Centre, organized as an non-profit association is the strategic buildup of interoperable, secure and cross-border administrative processes in Romania and the bordering countries. Of special interest are aspects of interoperability between open-source and closed-source products.
